PostSubject: Fusion Practice   Tue Feb 15, 2011 12:42 am

" according to webster, Fuse is to unite or become united. to join or become combined; integrate. " Professor Peyton called out to his class room with a patient tone, in front of him was his work table with a couple of extra tools for his lesson.

" I'm sure everyone here has experienced that changing the property of a single item.. example from wood to metal is a very difficult thing to do. I know a handful of you were able to successfuly change it, but if you have the material already in front of you, you have the option of using alchemy to mend both tools together."

--------------Homework Due 02-19-2011------------------

" I have a small piece of metal..and a piece of wood. lets say I need an aggressive tool to help aid me with a certain scenerio. Perhaps I'm on a mission?" He reached for both the metal piece and wood and stacked the items ontop of each other. " Make sure both materials are close enough for the fusion, imagine the shape and imagine the details of combining both elements together. "

The professor claped his hands and did the same motion as he taught before and placed his hands onto the items he was fusing. After a second, it began to glow and the items mended together to make an arrow. peytons lips curved into a soft smile as he held up the iem for hsi class to see. " The shaft of the arrow is wood, but the tip is metal. Alchemy was able to combine them together. I asked that you bring two items to fuse together, lets see what you can do."

The young Indian woman was actually excited about the items she had brought. Both were old cherished parts of heirlooms and together she knew they would create a magnificent piece. The first thing she has with her was the old, splintered lid of a jewelery box. It had been her mothers when she was a young girl. It was made of rosewood and was from India, but what was most beautiful about it was the delicate carvings in the wood. The patterns were intricate and beautiful and there was something very Indian about it. Anjali had loved it for as long as she could remember, but the box had broken long ago and was now just there for show. Her mother allowed her to have it though, and she brought it with her.

She knew she had to shift it into a handle of sorts before she could go the second item she brought. She pulled her necklace out and went through the ritual fomr transmutation and in a matter of seconds the wooden lid began to form into a delicate dagger handle. When she was satisfied she pulled a cloth from her bag and unwrapped it gently, pulling an old dagger blade from it. The dagger had belonged to her fathers father and had been passed down to her a number of years ago. It was dull now, the handle had fallen apart before she'd received it, but it had been special none the less. She didn't know what was so special about it, but there was an aum, similar to that on her pendant, engraved at the blades base. She was sure she could refinish the blade. Following the professors direction, she mimicked his movements and watch carefully as the handle she had created in addition to the dagger blade fused into one, beautiful dagger.

When all was said and done Anjali stared at her work, excited and satisfied. Her fingers wrapped around it; it felt natural and comfortable in her palm and she couldn't help but smile gently at it. It was perfect!

Jordan had decided on an invention all her own, something she had been searching for on the web for ages but had never come across. It was the perfect opportunity to create the perfect loose tea cup. She brought one of the cute mugs from Sunshine's with her in addition to a metal tea ball. She'd always thought it would be cool to have the tea ball in the cup which would make it -really- strong tea, which is something Jo herself liked very much. The stronger, the better. She liked the flavors to be rich which came with over steeping the teabags, though she was aware many didn't share her fondness for strong tea. But this was HER invention after all.

She dropped the tea ball in the cup, having already removed the chain, and places it in the center. The cup was wide enough so she could still easily open the tea ball to place leaves and herbs in it. She went through the fusion motions, her bracelet on her wrist, and then went to work fusing. It didn’t take long, and Jo wasn't actually sure if the little metal piece had fused to the ceramic or not, but when the process had seemed to finish she reached in and sure enough it was in place. "Sweet." She muttered with a satisfied grin. She beamed up at the professor, eager to show off her work. ( +1 Enlightenment Point. Edted By: FoxtrotMod )

Alexis wasn't sure what to bring to class and decided there was nothing better than a pair of hair cutting scissors and a few rubber bands. She had gotten into the habit of taking the rubber bands and wrapping them around the finger loops in the scissors which were made of metal and could be really uncomfortable if your fingers moved in the slightest while using them. She'd even gotten finger cramps before trying not to twist her fingers up in the metal loops! Pulling her keys out of her purse and setting them down on the table by the items she went through the ritual process, the rubber bands wrapped around the loops like they always were and waited for the fusion process to begin. When it was finished, she picked up the pair of scissors and tried to pull the rubber bands off, however they had fused onto the scissor handle so they wouldn't slip or come off. Sure, she could've done it another way but this was way cooler. ( +1 Enlightenment Point. Edted By: FoxtrotMod )

Shane had a perfectly kept grin on his face as he set down his items which was a wire hanger along with a long piece of leather material. The wolf twisted his bracelet around so he could see his charm dangling and clasped his hands together before bringing them down and letting his fingers touch the items which started to shift and mend together and change shape until he moved his hands away and picked up what was now a dog muzzle. He continued to grin and turned it around to see just how well it turned out, knowing the next time Eric ran through the house and tracked in mud he would be wearing a new piece of head gear. There were alot of things Schroeder could fuse, in fact he still didnt decide what he wanted to do so he brought his scout backpack full of outgoing gears and items. He bit his lip as he rummaged through his organized bag and pulled out his sash of badges. Some of the spots were missing since Schroeder was reserving certain spots for certain badges, but he knew this would be a perfect opporunity to fuse his awards on his sash.

He placed the sash on the table and reached into one of the side pockets of his bag and pulled out a handful of badges, carefully he placed them in the spots e wanted until it was perfectly aligned.

"alright here goes.. " The youngest boy told himself as clapped his single gloved hand together, ontop of the glove was his communications badge that was powered by the transmutation cricle. The scout placed his hands on the sash and within seconds the material of the badges fused with the sash. " Wow this really saves time."

Keith shifted in his seat a little and eyed the two items that was on the table in front of him. To his right was Evans collar that the boy had to ask Shanes help on locating, to his left was a new band of leather material. He knew that equivalent exchange was going to be in the process, so mending the old collar with the new material would be equal to each other. The only thing he was going to lose with this trade was the extra leather he purchased just for the practice.

" now all i need is my tool..." The senior said to himself and reached into his pocket to get his silver pocket watch out. Keith's lips curved into a soft smile as he clapped his hands together to start the process and placing them ontop of the two materials that was now side by side with each other.

"cmon.. cmon..." Keith begged while the items began to glow, he thought about the details in his head; how the edge of the collar was torn and some of the band worn out from the old age. The thought of mending it with the new leather crossed his chain of thoughts and after a moment the dim glow ceased.

The boy swallowed and picked up the item he mended and examined it closely, his expression was serious but after a second he finally realized that he was getting used to the ancient practice. " Its perfect!" He claimed, hoping that Evan would like this gift. ( +1 Enlightenment Point. Edted By: FoxtrotMod )

Devyn had actually had more than a little bit of a hard time with this assignment. It wasn't the work, it was trying to decide what he could fuse. Even when he finally had decided, he wasn't exactly happy with his decision. The trouble was there was nothing he needed to fuse. So much of his life was already fused together neatly for him (as in the case of the Flutter, or Denali's key which doubled as his alchemedic talisman) or would be impractical to fuse (like a gun to his hand or other things less... painful).

So, he looked down at the table at the two objects. One was a ceramic coffee mug that he'd bought at Starbucks that morning, and the other was a metal handle for it. The mug had no handle for a very simple reason; Devyn had broken it off. He pulled out his key and sighed. He saw the point of this lesson, but he really did wish that he could have used something a little... better and more meaningful as he had on some of the other assignments. He clapped his hands together and watched as the objects started to glow where he had them set together. After a few seconds, the glowing subsided, revealing an odd looking mug with one material for the cup, and another for the handle, though they were fused together nicely. He supposed that would work, and maybe he'd give it to someone. At least he got the practice, he figured, knowing that was, after all, the whole point of the class.

Cyle looked over towards the two tanks behind him as he got to work. He licked his lips lightly before turning the two knobs, releasing the harmless gases into the air. Oxygen and hydrogen, two of the planet's most common elements. He held out the hand with Ben's ring on it until he felt both gases on his hand. He clapped right above that point and attempted the fusion of hydrogen and oxygen. Theoretically, it should create water.

However, that was the problem. When Cyle tried to fuse the two elements, they were in equal share, which meant not water, but something entirely different, in addition to heat. What he made was Oxyhydrogen, which was flammable. The heat he created from the intended fusion was enough to ignite the compound which the mage had, fortunately, not created very much of. There was a small explosion; not enough to cause any real damage, but it did shake the classroom hut and threw Cyle back a couple feet from the failed experiment. He had figured he'd be able to create water, but... as he lay back on the floor in a slight daze, he figured that he'd probably be best off just carrying his backpack of water than two heavy gas tanks anyway.
